FAQs
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Miramar, Wellington and I travel all over the Wellington region. Martinborough, Otaki and Kapiti are my most popular locations with Hawkes Bay, Palmerston North and Queenstown following closely. I travel throughout New Zealand for weddings.
How do I book in with you?
Please reach out to me via the Wedding makeup or Event makeup pages to contact me and we can chat about my availability and any additional details.
How soon should I book in with you?
I open my books for weddings 8 months in advance. Please feel free to get in touch earlier and I can put you on my list to contact, so you will be the first to know when I open my books.
I accept event bookings 2 months in advance. If you have a group of 4+ please get in touch as I may be able to book you in earlier depending on availability.
Do you bring an assistant?
For large bridal parties or short time frames for getting ready I may need to bring an assistant.
If you are not available for my wedding can you suggest another makeup artist?
Yes, I have a team of wonderful makeup artists that I can book you in with if I am not available for your special day.
How long do your makeup applications take?
I allow 45- 60 min per person for makeup.
Can you do my hair too?
Yes, I can. Please let me know when you get in touch if you would like to have your hair done alongside your makeup.
Is your price cheaper for a more natural look?
No, regardless how dramatic or natural your makeup look is, I will still spend the same amount of time and use the same high-end products to create your look.
What does my wedding trial include?
Trial appointments start with a thorough consultation to discuss your wedding look and ensure we are on the same page. After the consultation we will then complete a full makeup look and make any adjustments you wish at the end. Once you are happy with the makeup I will take photos and note down the products used to create the look on your wedding day.
When and where do trials take place?
Trials take place at my home in Miramar on weekdays between 9am and 3pm. Trial appointments take 90 minutes and aim to be booked 30 days or more prior to your wedding date.
Why can’t you do a trial on a weekend date?
As a Makeup Artist that specialises in weddings I prioritise my weekends for wedding bookings, meaning my weekends are booked 8-12 months in advance.
Can I make changes after booking?
You are more than welcome to add people to your booking. If your numbers decrease the total number booked for will still need to be paid. Please keep in mind that adding more people to your booking may require an earlier start time that will incur an early morning fee.
When is payment due?
A 30% non-refundable and non-transferable booking fee is required to secure bookings. The remaining balance is due 21 days before your wedding date. For event bookings the remaining balance is due 7 days before the date of your booking.
When is the best time to finish my bridal party makeup on my wedding day?
I always suggest to brides to aim to have all hair and makeup completed 1 hour prior to leaving for your ceremony. This will allow time to get dressed, have bubbles, take photos with your bridesmaids and enjoy this time without feeling rushed before you leave.
How do I touch up my makeup on the day?
You should purchase the lipstick you intend on wearing to have with you on the day and optionally a powder too. At your trial I will let you know the best way to touch your makeup up on the day of your wedding if needed.
